In association with Performing Arts Collaboration South, we are delighted to be hosting a performance by the Mayflower Ensemble at Southampton’s Concert Hall, the Turner Sims on Thursday 3rd July 2025, 19:00-20:00.
The concert, Jazz and Jests, will feature live-screened performances including a demonstration of two different ways of multi-camera directing for classical music performance: a prepared camera script, and directing without preparation. This will allow the audience to appreciate how different types of screening shape our engagement and audiovisual enjoyment. The programme will include Alfredo Casella’s Serenata, Benjamin Oliver’s Captured (arr. for sextet), and Bohuslav MartinÅÆās ballet music for six instrumentsĀ La Revue de CuisineĀ with a newly commissioned narration.
